"Ashlarstud " was established in July 2000, By Marion ( Maz )Webb and her then infant children Ty and Abbey.

Maz has always had an affinity with horses, however on moving to Mudgegonga in the lower Alpine regions of Nth East Victoria and the purchase of the property "Ashlar" allowed Maz to truly follow her dream and start to breed the horses she so loved.

"Ashlar" is not to be confused as it is a local Aboriginal word for " Many Rocks."
Having been widowed in 1998, Maz made the decision to be a stay at home mum and raise the children and get the breeding program up and running

With the help of " Doc's Gay Barwidgee " and a handful of mares that she acquired by purchase or lease. The program began in earnest. Maz's vision was to breed an even tempered, trainable horses to suit both the pleasure rider and the serious competitor along with taking outside mares to her " Barwidgee. "

AUSTRALIAN STOCK HORSES

Young stock where handled and broken in by Maz and marketed by promotion at Local shows and Campdrafts. Maz's competitive streak did not take a back seat
as she campaigned her horses at Campdrafts, Local and National Shows reaping rewards of hard work over the years. The stud has seen much success over the years and many young horses by "Barwidgee" are competing in a cross sections of horse sports through out Southern Australia.
In 2006 Maz met Michael Glasser and his two daughters, Michaela and Annabel, their combined passion for the stock horse and the family interaction with horses was evident from the start.
Although the vision hasn't changed, the operation has gone into an exciting new faze with the securing of lease country and some new bloodlines by way of several exciting mares and a new junior sire "Glencoe Future Direction" The stud intends to market more yearling stock into the future.
The stud catch faze "From Our Family to Yours" is truly heartfelt.
We get a tremendous amount of satisfaction in producing these young stock and seeing them gives their new owners a great deal of pleasure.
